Mississippi Beef Stew


3-5 pound roast (sirloin tip or shoulder roast stew cuts)

1 packet dry ranch dressing mix

1 packet dry au jus seasoning mix or brown gravy mix

1/2 cup beef broth

1 stick butter

1 lb bag baby carrots

1 small red onion, sliced

5 small Russet potatoes, peeled and quartered


Coat crockpot with spay oil.

Add beef stew tips, next potatoes, then onion and carrots.

Cover meat mixture with gravy mix and ranch dressing mix.

Pour 1/2 cup of beef broth over mixture. (Do not stir.)

Place 1 stick of butter on top of beef stew, vegetables mixture.

Cook on high for 2-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours.

After butter melts stir mixture occasionally.
